07. Going for walks in the countryside.

One day, I went to my friend’s house on the weekend. Shortly after going to that house, at the request of my friend, I left the house with some other friends to visit the beautiful places of their village and went through a field. Where else is mental happiness than walking in the surroundings and enjoying the fresh air?

One day on my way to work, I saw an innocent grandfather sitting on the side of the road. He was wearing ragged clothes and was asked by several people for something to eat, saying that he had not eaten for several days. I immediately gave the food packet that I had taken for my lunch to the older man, and as soon as he received it, he opened it and enjoyed the food very quickly. I was shocked to see this incident and was very happy I could do something for him.

I gave the packet of rice and I was very happy to see him enjoying himself. I could see that his stomach was filled with food, and his heart was also happy. My heart jumped with happiness, and at that moment, I was overcome with a wonderful lightness; I felt a strange happiness and lightness that I had never felt before. I felt how much comfort and happiness the heart feels by quenching another person’s hunger. It is a wonderful feeling to see that comfort. I felt even more happy with that feeling, and I tried to enjoy that feeling more and more.
